The 62nd Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine was held in Kiev from 9th to 13th of May, 2017. We will tell you about the most interesting facts of the competition and the discoveries of this year: Singer Jamala was the one who «brought» Eurovision 2017 to Ukraine. She won the year before in Stockholm with the song «1944», this performance scored 534 points. International Exhibition Center became the performance place of the contest. This is the largest exhibition building in Ukraine. In February 2017 Ukrainian broadcaster announced the hosts` team names of the competition: Olexander Skichko, Volodymyr Ostapchuk and Timur Miroshnichenko. For the first time in the history of the contest the trio of hosts consisted of men only. Eurovision 2017 logo is a Ukrainian necklace. With the help of bright colors and catchy patterns the designers gave the traditional decoration a modern look. Each piece is made in its own style, which delivers the main message of the competition «Celebrate Diversity»: we are unique, but we all love music. The longest red carpet (265 m) in the history of the contest was in Kiev. During the opening part of the concert the National Orchestra of Folk Instruments performed hits of all previous Eurovision contests. The winner of ESC 2017 became the participant from Portugal the 27-year-old Salvador Sobral. By the way, Portugal won for the first time in the history of the contest. Salvador`s touching performance did not leave anyone indifferent. During the performance of the song «Amar Pelos Dois» («For both of us»), many spectators could not hold back tears, so touching was the composition of the winner.
